I believe that God is wanting to warn me and other Christians about changes that are going to take place on the earth in the coming years and how Christians need to adapt and change they way they function as Christians on the earth today. The anti-Christ system is goin to try to take our human rights away and our freedom of religion and freedoms of buying and selling freely. We have to obey the Holy Spirit and make some changes to our lives in the near future. Things are going to change a lot in the coming years, but we need not fear, God is with us.
Obama waited until Saturday night to renew the Bill of Rights busting Patriot Act. It was set to expire today. Both the Senate and the House signed off on the extension last week. Instead of tracking terrorists, the bill has been used to track the American people. The Patriot Act allows the government to search and seize Americans papers and effects without probable cause to assist terror investigations. It prevents a right to a speedy and public trial. It discourages freedom of association, freedom of speech, and the right to legal representation. The Patriot Act is being used to bring in a Police State. The act allows the government to abduct citizens and jail them without charge or the ability to confront witnesses against them. It effectively turns America into East Germany or Stalins Russia. Ethiopias counter terrorism and media law has drawn criticism worldwide especially from human rights organizations. The government enacted legislation ahead of this years elections in May. According to the Human Rights Watch, the law could classify political speech and peaceful protest as terrorist acts. The new law considers as acts of terrorism, damage to property and disruption to public services . It strips journalists of the right to protect the identity of their sources. The deputy head of the office for government communication affairs Shimelis Kemal said the new law requires journalists to disclose the sources of their information when reporting on Terrorism. The law will restrict the activities of opposition parties in the run up to the elections and place reporting restrictions on journalists whose work are not in favour of Prime Minister Meles Zenawis party Ethiopian Peoples Revolutionary Democratic Front EPRDF. In 2005s elections in which Mr Zenawis ruling EPRDF retained political power, several protestors, political party leaders, journalists and human rights activitists were arrested. There is a fear that this new law could lead to similar instances in the elections this year. Only one other African country, Eritrea, has jailed more journalists than Ethiopia. With this law likely to erode freedom of expression in that country, Africa Today asks; Is press freedom under attack in Ethiopia in the name of security?

The Obama administration wanted to extend the measure because of provisions it says are important in tracking suspected terrorists, including roving wiretaps to track multiple communications devices, Reuters reported on Thursday. Disappointingly, the governments dangerously broad authority to conduct roving wiretaps of unspecified or John Doe targets, to secretly wiretap of persons without any connection to terrorists or spies under the so-called lone wolf provision, and to secretly access a wide range of private business records without warrants under PATRIOT Section 215 were all renewed without any new checks and balances to prevent abuse, Kevin Bankston wrote last week after the act sailed through Congress.
