The Bill Of Rights ~ Another Broken Treaty

Posted by admin on 27th February 2011

The Bill of Rights was actually based upon the Iroquois Confederacy. Not only has the US Government repeatedly disregard these basic freedoms among the indigenous people throughout American history, but today the Bill of Rights no longer applies to any American. Our sytstem of government is corrupt – Congress, the Executive Branch and the Judicial system; from the bottom to the top. Let the healing begin – support the release of Native American Activist Leonard Peltier. www.whoisleonardpeltier.info

whyweprotest.net Forum thread forums.whyweprotest.net UT write up www.utdoverture.com Tell the Man sign… www.mediafire.com “Since its inception, the internet has provided new ways for people all over the world to exercise the rights of free speech, freedom of the press and freedom of assembly. These rights are not simply the benefits of a free society–they are the very means of preserving that society’s freedom. The recent increase in government interference with these freedoms coincides with the failure of the corporate media to fulfill their vital role in checking the abuse of authority. Censorship and journalistic abdication have left citizens unaware and unable to hold their governments accountable. WikiLeaks has moved to fill the void left by traditional news media, providing the necessary information for citizens to hold their governments to account. Yet it has not been granted the legal protections generally afforded to journalists. Instead, the organization has been vilified and monetary support has been blocked by governments and private corporations. The vitriol aimed at WikiLeaks demonstrates an unsettling disregard for the fundamental freedom to exchange information and express ideas. Members of a free society must not allow information to be suppressed simply because it inconveniences those in power. We share the responsibility to defend vital liberties. The time to act is now. Canadian government orders “Iranium” be shown

Posted by admin on 26th February 2011

Heritage Minister James Moore has instructed Library and Archives Canada to reschedule a screening of a controversial film on Iran that was cancelled Tuesday after complaints and threats. Moore said a new time and date would be announced soon and sent a note on the social messaging service Twitter saying “The show will go on.” The national library cancelled the screening of Iranium, a film critical of Iran’s leadership and nuclear program, after a spokesperson said it had received complaints from the public and threats. Ottawa police also launched an investigation Tuesday evening after they said a man showed up and dropped off a plastic bag with two envelopes inside the library building and then fled the area. Police found white powder inside the bag, but it turned out to be harmless. Library spokesperson Pauline Portelance said the decision to cancel the screening was made to ensure the safety of the public and staff and to ensure the protection of the archives themselves. “We received a series of threats and complaints from the public, varying members of the public, significant enough to warrant cancelling the event,” said Portelance. Fred Litwin, who organized the screening through the Free Thinking Film Society of Ottawa, said library officials had talked about pulling the film as late as Monday but early Tuesday gave him the OK to screen it. But Portelance disputed the claim, however, and said the library never requested that the film organizers find another venue

Ray McGovern Interview: Hillary Talks Freedom, Ray Bloodied by Police!

Posted by admin on 25th February 2011

Daily News @ RevolutionNews.US — (INFOWARS.COM) Clinton’s talk, which emphasized the need to protect basic freedoms, included her observation that “The rights of individuals to express their views freely… are universal.” But even as she condemned other governments for arresting protesters and inhibiting free expression, Clinton demonstrated her own hypocrisy and profound disregard for those rights by saying and doing nothing while the 71 year old protester was grabbed by campus police, pulled to the ground, and dragged out of the auditorium. McGovern remained silent until just before he was pulled through the auditorium doors; then, bloodied, bruised & arrested, he screamed, “This is America?” Full Article www.alternet.org — “I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. Already they have raised up a monied aristocracy that has set the government at defiance. The issuing power (of money) should be taken away from the banks and restored to the people to whom it properly belongs.” —Thomas Jefferson Time For A New American Revolution?
