Update: Google Voice Apple app blocked by Apple
I am very happy to hear that the FCC is looking deeper into this. Apple and AT&T in my opinion are telling you how to use the services they provide. This is wrong and stifles innovation from the user that user their network. I hope the FCC tears Apple and AT&T a new one. Fuck Apple and AT&T.
The basic gist of what happened was a cop got into a car accident and they tried to blame it on a woman who came from a Beer Party. I am not sure if the irl was drunk or not, but this shit is fucked up.
Wired posted an interesting article on how people are no longer charging for products, but instead giving it away for free. Now free does not mean entirely free of course there is a catch but it’s one usually that does not require a monetary compensation. Take a look at the article for the full story.
AT&T responded to the blocking of 4Chan. I copied the whole article in case AT&T ever removes it from their site.

“AT&T Statement Regarding img.4chan.org
Dallas, Texas, July 27, 2009
Beginning Friday, an AT&T customer was impacted by a denial-of-service attack stemming from IP addresses connected to img.4chan.org. To prevent this attack from disrupting service for the impacted AT&T customer, and to prevent the attack from spreading to impact our other customers, AT&T temporarily blocked access to the IP addresses in question for our customers. This action was in no way related to the content at img.4chan.org; our focus was on protecting our customers from malicious traffic.
Overnight Sunday, after we determined the denial-of-service threat no longer existed, AT&T removed the block on the IP addresses in question. We will continue to monitor for denial-of-service activity and any malicious traffic to protect our customers.
Here’s more on AT&T’s efforts to prevent denial-of-service attacks.

So Obama made a comment which I posted here. He is surprised about the attention he is receiving. I don’t understand why he is so suprised? He basically played the race card, and now he expects this to be swept under the rug. Come on President Obama all eyes are on you, freedom of speech has it’s consequences.
I know this is old, but Obama is learning the consequences of exercising his freedom of speech by saying he does not know all the facts and that he thinks that the police acted stupidly. Love the comments in the article!
