Stop SOPA: americancensorship.org ————————————————— Hello, American citizens. We are Anonymous. As you may or may not be aware, SOPA is a internet censorship bill that plans to stop piracy on the internet. While this may sound like an exceptional bill, we urge you to reconsider. The bill has been written as to give power to the government to shutdown any website they deem having to host “pirated” content, such as music or pictures. It also goes on to state that any site accused of piracy can be shutdown with or without proof of even having hosted such media. This is a direct violation of the American people’s right to free speech, and we, the people, will not stand for this. This puts your social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, and Youtube at risk of being shut down by the United States government, where personal videos utilize copyrighted content, however legally. Most videos that contain copyrighted content use it in a way that is confined in the Terms of Fair Use. As the bill is written in its current form, it will render the Terms of Fair Use irrelevant. As it stands (without SOPA), any video that contains such media gives the owner of that content to take legal action against the infringer. With SOPA, the government assumes responsibility for media that it does not even own! Under SOPA, your personal blog may be shutdown because of your use of an excerpt of a copyrighted video or soundtrack. It can also order internet …

This video series is in memory of the innocents that died in Waco, Texas February 28, 1993. It is also for those who believe that their government would never turn against them. There is still a lot of controversy surrounding the events of the Waco Siege. Some believe that the government murdered the Branch Davidians, while others are still not sure what to believe. One thing that cant be denied is the fact that 86 American citizens died as a result of the government siege, and the government proceeded to cover up what had happened with the mainstream media in full support of the cover up. Dont let what happened to them be forgotten, and remember what your government is capable of doing to their own people. Protect your rights & freedoms! Dont let your voice be silenced. An onrush of condemnation and criticism kept the SOPA and PIPA acts from passing earlier this year, but US lawmakers have already authored another authoritarian bill that could give them free reign to creep the Web in the name of cybersecurity. As congressmen in Washington consider how to handle the ongoing issue of cyberattacks, some legislators have lent their support to a new act that, if passed, would let the government pry into the personal correspondence of anyone of their choosing. HR 3523, a piece of legislation dubbed the Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act (or CISPA for short), has been created under the guise of being a necessary implement in America’s war against cyberattacks. But the vague verbiage contained within the pages of the paper could allow Congress to circumvent existing exemptions to online privacy laws and essentially monitor, censor and stop any online communication that it considers disruptive to the government or private parties.
