(Reuters) – Anti-government extremists opposed to taxes and regulations pose a growing threat to local law enforcement officers in the United States, the FBI warned on Monday. These extremists, sometimes known as “sovereign citizens,” believe they can live outside any type of government authority, FBI agents said at a news conference. The extremists may refuse to pay taxes, defy government environmental regulations and believe the United States went bankrupt by going off the gold standard.Routine encounters with police can turn violent “at the drop of a hat,” said Stuart McArthur, deputy assistant director in the FBI’s counterterrorism division.”We thought it was important to increase the visibility of the threat with state and local law enforcement,” he said. In May 2010, two West Memphis, Arkansas, police officers were shot and killed in an argument that developed after they pulled over a “sovereign citizen” in traffic.Last year, an extremist in Texas opened fire on a police officer during a traffic stop. The officer was not hit. Legal convictions of such extremists, mostly for white-collar crimes such as fraud, have increased from 10 in 2009 to 18 each in 2010 and 2011, FBI agents said.”We are being inundated right now with requests for training from state and local law enforcement on sovereign-related matters,” said Casey Carty, an FBI supervisory special agent.FBI agents said they do not have a tally of people who consider themselves “sovereign citizens.” JJ MacNab, a …
The need for a state – a single authority of law and government, with exclusive jurisdiction over some territory – is a basic assumption of much political theory and popular discourse. Tom Palmer challenges this common prejudice, and makes the case for non-coercive institutions in place of a central monopoly in law, as at present. Vice President of the Cato Institute and General Director of the Atlas Global Initiative, Dr Tom Palmer is a prominent libertarian activist. He has recently published an edited collection of his essays, Realizing Freedom: Libertarian Theory, History and Practice, which defends libertarianism from its critics and ably sets out, with one eye on history, the case for individual freedom and property rights. Recorded at Christ Church, University of Oxford, on 19th October 2009.
Having begun to re read my fav philosophers from ancient times through to the industrial revolution. I thought it important to show how even 2500 odd years ago Aristotle realized what was ‘real wealth’. I am indeed devoid of his intellect but humbly submit my opinions. SHADOW GOVERNMENT provides up-to-the minute analysis of the ever changing technological landscape and new evidence that an ultra-secret global elite controls technology, finance, international law, world trade, political power and vast military capabilities. John Wilson wakes up, gets ready for his day and heads to work. He has no idea that he’s being watched, tracked and studied. Is he a threat to national security? Is he a terrorist or a criminal? No, he’s an ordinary American citizen. Like everyone else, John’s rights and freedoms have been systematically destroyed â all in the name of security and convenience. Is it about peace and unity? Or is it about ultimate global power? What if there were hidden forces with no ties to democracy or constitutional rights in power? What if new laws, media propaganda and Secret Societies labeled John a danger to society? And what if all this set the stage for a Bibically prophesied global government run by the Antichrist? Leading researchers, authors and minds like Grant Jeffrey, Dr. Katherine Albrecht, Edward G. Griffin, Daniel Estulin, Gary Kah, Chuck Missler, Joan Veon, Brad OâLeary and many others take you through the incredible and hidden world of Surveillance, Rights and Freedoms, Global Government and Bible Prophecy.
