A tragic but illustrative example of this truth was observed on 9/11. Individuals, who were free to act within the boundaries of our American freedoms, were enabled by the very liberties they despise to commit their heinous acts of murder. Thousands of innocent people lost their lives because these people were at liberty to act in a manner that completely violated the rights of others. Unfortunately, there are others in this country today planning similar acts of destruction and violence, and who will do so without a moment’s hesitation. We are faced with an implacable enemy. They refuse to negotiate. We cannot communicate with them because they do not understand what motivates us, and most of us do not understand what motivates them. Nevertheless, the failure to understand, or be understood, is not license to perpetuate additional acts of violence and bloodshed. The challenge we face is the delicate balance between “liberty and justice for all” and the possible abrogation of some of the civil rights of a few individuals. Civil rights are rights guaranteed us by the government, with America being the preeminent example of these civil liberties granted to all. London strike action Nov 30th 2011 here we see the restriction of free movement with a massive police barrier placed as a block to free movement and association. Human rights violations. • freedom of thought, conscience and religion, and freedom to express your beliefs • freedom of expression • freedom of assembly and association • the right not to be discriminated against in respect of these rights and freedoms • the right to peaceful enjoyment of your property • freedom from torture and degrading treatment • the right to liberty If any of these rights and freedoms are breached, you have a right to an effective solution in law, even if the breach was by someone in authority, such as, for example, a police officer. Our Country is being run by war criminals, our police are in dereliction of their duty and are implicitly involved in the repression of the people’s, movement and free will. We must all stand up against injustice, tyranny and repression.
