This video presents a complete report and timeline of events. The government of Azerbaijan has forcibly evicted homeowners and demolished their homes for urban development projects in the capital of Baku. Dozens of families have been evicted from the neighborhood where the arena for the May 2012 Eurovision Song Contest is being built. Human Rights Watch has documented the authorities’ illegal expropriation of properties and forcible evictions of dozens of families in four Baku neighborhoods, at times without warning or in the middle of the night. The authorities subsequently demolished homes, sometimes with residents’ possessions inside. The government has refused to provide homeowners fair compensation for the properties, many of which are in highly desirable locations even though Azerbaijani law stipulates that market value should be paid in compensation for a forced sale. In many cases, including in the National Flag Square area, the government has cut services or begun dismantling apartment buildings in which some residents remained. access:health is a training project based in Kenya that keeps girls in school through health education and sanitary provision. More info at: access-collective.com Donate at: www.hope-for-children.org Millions of girls are using old and dirty material, newspaper, leaves, and cow-dung in place of safe secure sanitary wear. Commercial disposable sanitary towels are often unavailable or too expensive, bulky to transport and difficult to dispose of hygienically. Fear, superstition, and embarrassment causes girls to miss up to 50 days of school each year or drop out completely. Together we need to help access:health continue with practical training and health education that puts personal health decisions into the woman’s hands. The project organises training in how to make sustainable pads and successful micro-businesses.
On April 22nd, 2012 Five men will begin their 4500km journey from Vancouver to Toronto. They will be raising awareness and advocating for Victims of Crime across Canada and also Fund raising for the Canadian Crime Victim Foundation (CCVF.NET) ——————————————————————- In 2008 Canadians spent over 3 million dollars to provide tattoo parlors in federal penitentiaries for rapists, murderers and victimizers while their victims and their victims families are unable to find grief counseling, legal assistance, medical or financial support. In Canada convicted murderers can receive University educations at the expense of society and the siblings of their victims can not afford any form post secondary education. Canada puts more effort into tracking overdo library books than we do tracking sexual predators, child pornographers and escaped violent criminals. Crimes of finance are recorded on national credit registries. Yet convicted rapists, pedophiles and murderers can successfully hide their records and their past. “Violent crime and its devastating aftermath must be viewed far greater than crimes of finance. Victims and survivors cannot “write it off,” any more then they can get over it. The rights of victimizers and criminals take absolute precedence over the rights of victims and law abiding citizens, Any definition of justice which excludes the victim is a definition of injustice, and courts and the judicial system is the engine of …
Bahraini Human Rights Defender Maryam al-Khawaja speaks to the EU parliament on April 25th 2012 about the hypocrisy, double standards, and human rights violations taking place right now and over the past year in Bahrain. www.bahrainrights.org
A fast scene of a huge march demanding the step-down of the government. Today 20th of April on Budaiya main road. A year has passed since the killing of peaceful demonstrators by the security forces as a result of the use of excessive force against peaceful protesters in Bahrain. Despite several announcements on positive steps being taken by the government to ensure accountability, we have not seen any outcome of reported government investigations into allegations of torture and it is unclear how many people involved in human rights abuses have been brought to justice. Hundreds of people are still facing criminal charges in Bahrain for exercising their rights to freedom of expression and assembly. Meanwhile, many others, dismissed from their work place or university for exercising these very rights have yet to be reinstated. Subscribe: www.youtube.com

Anonymous Operation Bahrain (English video). Press release #opBahrain « Silence is a war crime » Anonymous has watched with growing concern the violations of human rights in the Kingdom of Bahrain. We have seen thousands of innocent demonstrators brutally repressed by the regime of King Hamad bin Al Khalifa. We have seen doctors and nurses imprisoned for treating the injured protesters that security forces have violently assaulted. And we suffered from the mainstream media blackout about what is really happening in Bahrain. This is a peaceful popular revolt against the medieval concept of absolute monarchy. It is a movement that spans all levels and sectors of society. This is a movement that requires only freedom, justice, and democracy. Anonymous demands the Government of Bahrain to put an immediate end to torture and stop the use of force and violence against peaceful demonstrators. Anyone doing business with the criminal regime of Bahrain has the blood of the people of Bahrain on their hands. We call for the release of all political prisoners, doctors, nurses, medics and human rights workers illegally imprisoned through military courts, tortured, and violated. Freedom to Abdulhadi AlKhawaja and all other activists.
