Basically money ends up in circulation by subsidies, contractors that the government hires, and through government programs. Also let’s not forget about the banks that the government bailed out for us. Oh wait they didn’t do it for us did they….
The government lends money to these banks, essentially becoming a bank themselves. They created the money out of thin air. The greatest magic trick in the whole world. Then they get all that money back plus more. So far the government has received 4 billion from the money it lent out, WTF greatest Magician in the world the US government.
The picture you see above is the woman that was ratted out by Google due to a court order. Ms. Port apparently had a blog in which she called a woman named Liskula Cohen a “skank” and other defaming words. Liskula decided to take the case to court and by court order Google had to divulge the site owners name which was Rosmary Port. Liskula Cohen apparently was going to sue Ms. Port but later dropped the charges. Rosemary Port is suing google for $15 million for invading her privacy. I don’t think Ms. Port has much of a case, Google really had no choice but we shall see how this pans out.
Well, well what do we have here. A leaked memo that the public wasn’t supposed to see? Oops someone made a mistake. It’s gonna be interesting to see how the White House plays this one out. They already said that they are backing away from this but what else are they hiding from the public?
Bernie Madoff’s ponzi scheming credit card statements. To be fare he did donate lots of money to charitable organizations. Hit the link for the long list of purchases him and others made.
Companies have been abusing job seekers by using some messed up tactics, like requiring previous job salary information to determine what they should pay you. Misrepresenting the work that you will be performing, not letting you know if they are interested in pursuing you or not, etc. Still some of these may seem bad but it’s not as bad as what China does, from what Newsweek reports Women of beauty have a leg up over women of not so appealing to the eye looks. Full article about the American way after the jump.
I hate being a corporate wage slave. Companies have now been screwing people over by giving them laptops and blackberries. With the expectation of having these workers be available 24/7 which in my own opinion is wrong in so many ways. It’s like the company saying “We hired you and now we own your free time.” leaving no personal time for yourself. Thus becoming a slave to the company that hired you. Ars Technica posted a real good article on the state of companies expecting you to be available 24/7.
New York Magazine examines Goldman Sachs and asks the question “Is Goldman Sachs Evil?”. The company has weathered our recession, payed back the TARP money the government lent to it, and has posted billions of dollars in profits. I really don’t know what to think of this company. All I know is that it is the side that’s winning and I know everyone wants to be on the side that’s winning not on the side that’s losing.
