Yet another rambly recording. This one I definitely wouldn’t mind seeing some well thought out responses to, since I feel my thoughts on this subject is a bit incomplete. Basically, I find there is a conundrum we all are facing when it comes to living under free societies: how much responsibility are we willing to take on? From what I’ve seen, it doesn’t seem to be much at all.

“My fellow citizens, in view of these hard circumstances that the country is facing, President Hosni Mubarak has decided to step down as President of the Republic and has asked the higher council of the armed forces to run the affairs of the country.” ~Omar Suleiman, former Vice President and longtime Intelligence Chief of Egypt This 30 second announcement on Friday, February 11, 2011 finally ended the 30 year reign of Hosni Mubarak as President of Egypt. It came after 18 days of protests from the Egyptian people who demanded Mubarak’s resignation and reform including free and fair elections. The world has been inspired by the courage and the passion of the people of Egypt in their quest for freedom. Let freedom ring!! I hope this nonviolent movement spreads to other countries in the Middle East and throughout the world where governments are oppressive. Everyone has the right to live free. I hope it creates the environment where the USA must change its foreign policy which props up dictators like Mubarak, and allows the State of Israel to continue its military occupation of Palestine. We must support freedom and human rights. The images used in this video are from the internet. The music is A Great Day for Freedom by Pink Floyd.
President and Founder of the Competitive Enterprise Institute Fred Smith discusses the ways government limits individual freedoms for actions that lack political sanction.
Where do our rights come from? Do we really have any rights? George Carlin brilliantly answers these questions in his usual funny yet insightful way. Government does not tell the people what is in their best interest, people tell the government what is in their best interest. Ordinance #2740( An unfunded city-wide mandate) was passed with a resounding 6 to 1 vote, and it allows for the citizens of Cedar Falls, Iowa to forcefully give the government keys to their comercial properties through universal ‘lock boxes’. The intent of the program is to provide increased safety and protection to personal, private property which include businesses, apartments and some rental houses– which by the way– comes at the expense of furthering wayward erosion of fundamental constitutional rights. You might want to send a fax to the Cedar Falls City Council and let them know what you think of their statist plan to have access to private property in the name of ‘protecting citizens’. VIDEO INSPIRED BY Becoming Our Government, Making the Future Our Own, by Don Paul Don Paul is a writer, musician and activist who was among the first to speak out about 9/11 fraud. His books, including “’9/11′: Facing Our Fascist State” and “Waking Up From Our Nightmare (with Jim Hoffman),” have inspired many to seek the truth about 9/11 and other critical issues. A new compilation of Don’s writings is called The World is Turning: “9/11,” the Movement for Justice, & Reclaiming America for the World. This new book combines two earlier and much-acclaimed Don Paul books with many articles that are new to print and that extend into late 2008. I was honored to be asked to write the introduction. The book is available though Don’s website, www.wireonfire.com Today, a new essay from Don, entitled “Becoming Our Government, Making the Future Our Own” is available here: www.911blogger.com Many thanks to Don for all his courageous and hopeful work. www.Rebuildgreen.org
